The sun is up and smiling. Do not mind the cursing heat. You can still do the things that you love during summer without thinking of the sun. If you thought about going to the beach, you should be prepared to encounter sunburns along the way. Sunburns are bad idea if you are conscious about your skin.
Many Singaporeans are conscious about their skin. Slight sunburn will bother them. If you have sunburn, you can do something about it. Do not regret the tanning or exposure to the sun. Sunburn looks unattractive and it hurts when it peels but it should not be the reason to stop enjoying the sun and the summer in general.
So, if you have sunburns as we speak, you only need to remember the following things:
- Act immediately: If you experience tingling of your skin, you should immediately move to a shady place. If you see the reddening of your skin, it is a sign telling you to stop exposing yourself to the sun.
- Moisturize: If the sunburn is already there. The first thing that you should do is moisturize it. After taking a cool bath, you should slather moisturizing cream (or lotion will do) to calm the skin.
- Hydrate: Sunburn can make your skin somewhat dry. It is imperative that you start to drink lots of water and stay hydrated all the time.
- Medicate right away: You should not wait for things to get painful before taking medications. You can consider ibuprofen. Ibuprofen can help with the swelling and the redness.
You should remember to avoid the sun between 10am to 4pm. It can make a difference at the end of the day.
